The Real Deal Way to Fitness & Bodybuilding.
Get ready for an exciting journey that will change your life for the good. It is a journey that will give you the rewards that you are seeking whether you are a man, woman or teenager. Imagine yourself with a strong muscular body, brimming over with health and energy. You’ll feel good and look good with a new found confidence in your abilities. I call this the Real Deal Way to Fitness and Bodybuilding because this course is based on down to earth, tried and true methods and not some pie in the sky nonsense developed by bogus companies inducing you to buy their newest piece of “high tech” exercise equipment or “miracle supplements”. My name is Kevin Carbone and I consider myself an average guy who was never a competitive bodybuilder but has pumped iron on and off for 40 years. Oh yes, to be sure, there were many times when I let myself go and got out of shape. However, I can honestly say that I always looked better, felt better, had more energy and could think more clearly when I was in shape. I think I’m probably a lot like you in the sense that we would love to be in shape like a contest level bodybuilder, but lets face facts for a moment. As you probably know all too well, school, family, home and career responsibilities often leave us just too tired and exhausted to even think about an exercise program. Those contest level bodybuilders are usually genetically gifted or if they are obsessed (or just plain crazy) will take some kind of steroid drug. Also, many of the pro bodybuilders that you see in the muscle magazines are under contract by food supplement companies so they don’t have regular jobs to worry about like you and me. They spend all day exercising, eating, resting and getting good tans. So where does that leave us average “Joe” and “Jane” bodybuilders? It leaves us with what I refer to as Real Deal Muscle Building Truths:

Real Deal Muscle Building Truth #1
You must realize that the only way to safely build muscle and lose fat is through a system of progressive resistance exercise combined with persistence and a healthy and nutritious diet.

Real Deal Muscle Building Truth #2
Oh sure, steroids and other hormonal drugs definitely do build muscle and strength but at a high cost to your future health and pocketbook. Some of the risks and side effects of steroid use are (and this is just some): liver tumors, kidney failure, hardening of the arteries, high blood pressure, heart problems, stroke, sexual problems, various forms of cancer, plus they are illegal so you never really know what the heck you are actually buying. As if this wasn’t bad enough when you stop taking steroids you eventually lose the growth and strength gains that you made. You must agree this is not a pretty picture and definitely not worth the chance you take of ruining your life down the road.

Real Deal Muscle Building Truth #3
Age is a factor, but definitely not a roadblock. If you are in your teens or early twenties your testosterone and other natural growth hormone levels are at their highest, thus providing you with the potential for fastest growth and strength. Growth hormone levels slowly decline with age but this just means that you will need to train a few months longer than your younger counterparts to get the same or close to the same results when you are in your 30's, 40's, or 50's plus. I have heard it said that the trained iron pumper is at his strongest in his mid thirties and I believe this to be true. As we get older, and are consistent in our training, we can keep most of our strength, however more recuperative time is usually needed between workouts. Also, maximum poundages should not be used as often because as we age our joints are more prone to aches and pains. Just remember that as long as you are healthy, keep a positive mental attitude and progress at your own pace you will make significant gains in muscle, strength, and fitness at any age.

Real Deal Muscle Building Truth #4
Muscle has memory. It’s a fact that if you exercised or weight trained at some previous time in your life and were forced to stop for several months or even years, it will take you less time to regain what you had than if you started from scratch. The important point is that it really doesn’t matter when you start as long as you grab the bull by the horns and make a go of it.

Real Deal Muscle Building Truth #5
Genetics do play somewhat of a role and this is one reason why everybody improves at a different rate. However what really matters is following correct training methods and a proper diet as this will propel you to your maximum growth and fitness potential no matter what hand your genetic code has dealt you.

Real Deal Muscle Building Truth #6
Our bodies dislike change and tend to want to stay the same and keep a balance or equilibrium until something comes along to stir or prod our metabolism into new growth. We do this by gradually sending it a signal to grow and lose body fat by adopting an exercise program and an all around diet and lifestyle change. This must be done gradually but with subtle progression, especially in the beginning, because your body and mind will react negatively if the overload is too severe. This is why many people will dive into an exercise and diet program with great enthusiasm at first, but wind up too sore and fatigued or possibly injured and unable to continue because of overtraining. They become discouraged and fall back into their old habits and regress to where they started. The trick is to gradually but progressively nudge your body with progressive resistance weight training and proper recuperation over an extended period of time.

Real Deal Muscle Building Truth #7
You need a well thought our plan of action with clearly defined goals. Without this plan you will be like a boat adrift in the ocean with no power of its own being swept away by the wind and tide. With this course I will guide you step by step along a year’s worth of in depth training routines, nutrition, and mental conditioning. In a sense I will be your training partner, guide, and buddy through this exciting journey, always offering motivation, encouragement, and practical advice.

Real Deal Muscle Building Truth #8
Most women say that they just want to diet away a few pounds and shape their bodies. The problem is that when they diet away excess body fat, they often look soft and flabby. There isn’t much shape because the underlying muscles are underdeveloped. What they need to do is to create shape and muscle tone through progressive resistance weight training and a healthful diet. Aerobics can be added later to burn calories and reduce body fat but aerobics will not build muscle. Women should not be afraid of building muscles like a man because, in general, they lack the male hormone testosterone in the same quantities as a man possesses. Testosterone is the hormone most responsible for muscle growth. The exception to the rule is female competitive bodybuilders who in most cases are genetically predisposed to building large muscles. Also, they work very hard to look the way they do and some unfortunately resort to steroids. A definite no-no!

Real Deal Muscle Building Truth #9
It is not absolutely necessary to use food supplements as long as you are carefully monitoring your diet. However, some supplements have been shown to speed up gains when taken in moderation along with a well planned training program and a nutritious diet. Generally speaking supplements do work but with varying degrees of success depending on the metabolism and body chemistry of the person taking them. Realize that food supplements are not drugs and contain no magic ingredients. They are just concentrated forms of substances that are normally found in food. Don’t expect to buy a can of protein powder and become a muscular marvel by the time the can is used up. It just doesn’t work that way.

Real Deal Muscle Building Truth #10
Rome wasn’t built in a day and building solid muscle also takes time. For the average person the building of solid muscle with a minimum of body fat is a slow process that must be measured in months, not weeks. Oh sure, we’ve all heard how so-and-so gained 20 pounds in 4 weeks. This is possible but not typical. More than likely 12 of those pounds were fat. A more realistic timetable would be noticeable gains with a general firming after 3 months. After 6 months of consistent training and a good eating program your journey should be rewarding you with a much improved body, greatly increased strength and overall fitness, improved health and a better outlook on life with more confidence. I have heard a theory that states that every 6 months all of the cells in our body are rebuilt. That would mean that we are a new person every 6 months! Now I don’t know if this theory is true or not, but 6 months has always been a good milepost to judge progress. It is the half way point in our year long program and is a good indicator of even better things to come. After one year of consistent training and proper eating you will be amazed how your life has changed for the better and the good part is that this is only the beginning because more gains and improvement lie ahead in the months and years to follow.

Now that you know the 10 Real Deal Truths of Bodybuilding
I want to show you the plan of action that the FitnessSource1.com course will take.

You will start with 6-8 weeks of freehand exercises (without weights) that are necessary at this stage to progressively tone and condition your body for the heavier loads to come. I know that a lot of trainers would say that this beginning stage of freehand exercises in not necessary and they would have you dive right into weight training and possibly aerobics right from the start. I must take exception to this thinking for several reasons.

First, if you have never exercised or have not exercised for a long time, your muscles, ligaments, tendons, joints, nerves, etc. will not be able to handle a weight training program all at once. You run the risk of overtaxing your system as a whole, simply because you are in no condition for such heavy work.

Secondly, if training is too intense in the beginning it will not be fun anymore and you will quickly lose energy and enthusiasm. Training will become a chore instead of an invigorating and enjoyable experience.

Thirdly, and probably most important is that you risk injury if your training is too heavy and intense in the beginning. You can pull, strain, sprain, or more seriously tear a muscle by training too heavy.

These progressive freehand exercises will teach you proper and deeper breathing, will gradually coax, strengthen and build muscle tissue, toughen your ligaments and tendons, increase flexibility, and tone your internal organs. They will set the body mechanism in place so you will lose fat and build muscle tissue.

Next, you will move on to the 3 month Beginner’s Weight Training Program. It is here where you will learn the proper exercises and techniques which will provide a strong foundation to build upon. We will also have an in-depth discussion on diet and nutrition with 30 sample menu suggestions that are intended to aid you in creating nutritious meals whether you want to gain or lose weight. Also we will discuss how to integrate cardio/aerobic training into your routine.

When you are ready we will advance to the 3 month Intermediate Training Program where we will build on what was learned previously while kicking up the intensity a notch or two. We will also switch to a new workout routine with new bombing techniques that will blast those muscles of yours into super gains. It is important to change your training routine roughly every three months so that your muscles don’t get used to the same workload causing progress to slow down.

When you have maxed out with the Intermediate Program, you will be ready for the 3 month Advanced Training Program where yet a new training routine utilizing advanced training methods will rocket you into your best possible shape. Plus, I will outline how to progress from there with several advanced training techniques and workout routines that will keep you going for quite some time beyond a year.

If you are still not convinced, then that’s all right. It probably just means that you are not quite ready to undertake a self-improvement program such as this one at this time. There is an old Indian adage that states, When the student is ready the teacher will appear. This simply means that until the student develops a real desire to learn a certain subject it is only at this point when he will seek out the teacher, even though the teacher was always there to begin with. In much the same way when you are ready to begin this journey to health and fitness we will be here to guide you step by step along the way.

One last thought. It seems to me that if you read this information up to this point there must be some interest on your part. Remember, if we don’t take some risks in life, we will never achieve our dreams or goals. So go for it – you have everything to gain and nothing to lose – except hopefully some excess weight!
